Blogroll

blog

What the heck is a blogroll? The short answer is that it is a list of blogs a blogger reads and chooses to share with their readers. For some, it is as simple as a collection of recommended blogs. Others use it to highlight their influences in the blogging world. A blogroll can serve many purposes.

In the early days of blogging, most bloggers maintained a blogroll. They were often found in the sidebar of a blog or on a dedicated page (like this one). Linking to other blogs was about networking and boosting traffic through reciprocal linking. It was an effective way to build community, and atheist bloggers often needed that. Although this tradition largely seems to be a thing of the past, it is one worth preserving. And so, this is my blogroll.

The fact that I include a blog here in no way means I agree with everything (or anything) the author says. As a freethinker, I seek to expose myself to views with which I am apt to disagree. Some of the blogs listed below provide that on a regular basis.

It is also worth noting that some of the blogs listed here may be inactive. I try to remove those that have not posted in over a year, but I do not do this as often as I should.

Blogs Focusing Mostly on Atheism, Skepticism, Separation of Church and State, or Freethought

Political Blogs That Often Address Religion and Church-State Issues
